Neuer Returns to Training and Approaches Participation with Bayern Munich
Monday 31-03-2025
Manuel Neuer, the goalkeeper of Bayern Munich, returned to light training today, Monday, after recovering from a calf injury, in a positive step ahead of the match against Inter Milan in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals on April 8.

Bayern Munich announced that the 39-year-old Neuer was able to complete a running training session, bringing him one step closer to returning to the pitch, after suffering a tear in the calf muscle fibers during the match against Bayer Leverkusen in the Round of 16 of the Champions League. Despite returning to training two weeks ago, he had to stop due to recurring pain.

Bayern Munich is preparing to face Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Friday, then hosting Inter Milan on April 8, followed by a match against Borussia Dortmund on April 12, and then the second leg of the quarter-finals against Inter Milan in Italy on April 16.

Neuer's return comes at an important time for the team, especially after losing the services of Alphonso Davies, Upamecano, and Hiroki Ito due to injury. The Bavarian team hopes to benefit from the experience of their veteran goalkeeper in their European campaign, as they aim to reach the UEFA Champions League final, which will be held at their home stadium on May 31.
