English media reports have revealed that Kobbie Mainoo, the Manchester United midfielder, is nearing a departure from the ranks of the Red Devils during the upcoming summer transfer window, despite the club's attempts to renew his contract.

Mainoo, who is 19 years old, has a contract that expires in the summer of 2027, with an option for an additional year. However, negotiations between the two parties have not reached an agreement due to a dispute over salary, as the player currently earns £25,000 a week and is demanding a higher salary, given his impressive performances since being promoted to the first team in 2023.

According to the "Manchester Evening News", Manchester United's management has not yet succeeded in convincing the player to renew, making him close to leaving, amid strong interest from Chelsea, which is waiting to determine the player's fate before making a formal offer for his acquisition.

It is worth mentioning that Mainoo has been sidelined since February 7 due to a muscle injury, but he is close to returning following the international break, as he prepares to participate in the upcoming match against Nottingham Forest in the next round of the Premier League.

This season, Mainoo has participated in 25 matches across various competitions, scoring one goal and providing one assist, with a market value estimated at €55 million according to Transfermarkt.
