Real Madrid is preparing to host its counterpart Leganés on Saturday evening, as part of the 29th round of the Spanish League for the 2024/2025 season, in an important match in the battle for the top spot.

Real Madrid enters the match in second place in the La Liga standings with 60 points, tied with the league leaders Barcelona on goal difference, with a postponed match for Barca against Osasuna taking place this Thursday evening.

The referees' committee has announced that Spanish referee Pablo González Fuertes will officiate the match between Real Madrid and Leganés, while referee Melero López will be responsible for the VAR room.

Referee Fuertes is considered a good omen for Real Madrid, having officiated 12 previous matches for the royal team in the Spanish league, during which the team won 10 matches, drew one, and suffered a single defeat against Rayo Vallecano in 2019.

The last match officiated by Fuertes for Real Madrid was last season against Granada, where the royal club achieved a significant victory with a score of 4-0.
