Dortmund Defender on PSG's Radar

Thursday 27-03-2025
Reports have emerged today, Thursday, that Paris Saint-Germain is vigorously pursuing the signing of Nico Schlotterbeck, the German defender from Borussia Dortmund, during the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to the German newspaper "Bild", PSG's management has placed Schlotterbeck at the top of their priorities to strengthen the defense, especially after his impressive performances with Dortmund despite the team's declining results this season. The newspaper noted that the deal could cost the Parisian club around 70 million euros.

Schlotterbeck, who is 25 years old, has been one of Dortmund's standout players this season, despite the team's struggles, currently sitting in 11th place in the Bundesliga standings. He successfully led his team to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League and previously caught the attention of PSG officials last season after delivering a strong performance against the French team in the Champions League semi-finals.

Paris Saint-Germain is looking to bolster their defense for the next season, as coach Luis Enrique relies on captain Marquinhos alongside the duo of William Pacho and Lucas Beraldo, amidst increasing rumors about the club's desire to also sign Dutchman Virgil van Dijk, the Liverpool captain, whose contract with the Reds expires next summer.
