Ahmed Suleiman: Zamalek Welcomed Any Referee Management for the Super Match
Ahmed Suleiman, a member of the Zamalek Club's board of directors, spoke about the Super Match from which the team withdrew, confirming that an official letter was sent to the Football Association and the Clubs Association to prevent the scene of the stadium from being filmed without Zamalek's presence, as happened recently with Al-Ahly or previously with Zamalek.
He continued during the program "Stars in Ramadan" on Youth and Sports Radio: "We did not want to repeat the scene of our absence from the stadium and to portray the matter in a way that would reflect poorly on Zamalek, so we sent a letter 24 hours before the Super Match, and consequently, Al-Ahly did not go to the stadium, and the latter was counted as the winner.
He added: "We learned from this incident and decided to send a letter 24 hours before the Super Match, clarifying that the scene of Al-Ahly's absence from the last Super Match despite Zamalek's attendance was detrimental to Egyptian football.
He emphasized that Zamalek welcomed the management of any referee for the Super Match and had no objection to assigning the match to an Egyptian officiating crew.
