Ronaldo Reveals Reason for Ancelotti Not Coaching Brazil
The Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazário revealed the real reason behind the failure of negotiations between the Brazilian Football Confederation and Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, despite his close proximity to leading the Samba team in the 2023/2024 season.
In his statements, Ronaldo said: "The negotiations between Brazil and Ancelotti were not just rumors; they were part of it, and I spoke to him personally to try to finalize the deal."
He continued: "If Ancelotti had not won any titles, Real Madrid would have sacked him, and then he would have come to Brazil, but he won the Champions League, which guaranteed him an additional season."
He added: "After those negotiations, things suddenly became complicated because I did not get Real Madrid's approval, and the Champions League was the main reason for his continued presence with the team."
Ancelotti had renewed his contract with Real Madrid until June 30, 2026, to continue his successful journey with the royal club after leading them to several major titles, most notably the Champions League.
Real Madrid is preparing to face Leganés on Saturday, March 29, 2025, in the twenty-ninth round of the Spanish league.
