Croatian star Luka Modric, midfielder for Real Madrid, revealed the latest developments regarding his contract renewal with the royal club, indicating that he does not feel any rush to settle his future.

In his statements, Modric said: "There is no need to rush regarding my contract renewal; the season is still long, we have many matches, and we will see what happens then."

He added: "Yes, I want to retire at Real Madrid; that would be a dream for me."

The seasoned Croatian continued: "I want to enjoy every day; I feel good, and I don't care about what is said about me. I have a lot to offer in football, as long as the passion is still within me, I will continue to play."

Modric commented on the situation he had with Kylian Mbappe during the match between France and Croatia in the UEFA Nations League, where he urged the French star to get up after falling in the penalty area, saying: "These things happen in football, just joking between us, and there was nothing personal against him."

He praised Mbappe, stating: "He is one of the best players in the world; he can do amazing things, but what surprised me the most is his personality. He is a great kid, humble, always joking, and always ready to help his teammates."

He added: "Some may say he hasn't had his best season, but he scored 30 goals; imagine if he were at his peak, he is one of the best players I have ever seen in my life."

Regarding Mbappe's previous statement that he would seek Modric's advice to win the Ballon d'Or, the Croatian responded: "I advise him to continue helping Real Madrid win matches, and if he does that, I'm sure he will be among the candidates to win not just one but several Ballon d'Ors."

Modric concluded his statements by discussing his goals with the royal team, saying: "We want to achieve the treble, as it is an achievement that Real Madrid has never accomplished before, and I have a great ambition to win more titles. At the end of the season, I will meet with the management to see what is best for the club and for me."
