Cancelo Reveals Behind-the-Scenes of His Departure from Manchester City

João Cancelo, the Portuguese player of Al-Hilal, revealed details about his departure from Manchester City during the last summer transfer window, confirming that there were differences of opinion with coach Pep Guardiola.

In his statements, Cancelo said: "There were differences of opinion between me and Guardiola, but it never escalated to a direct confrontation. I have a very strong personality, and so does he, but in the end, he is the coach and the one who makes the decisions."

He added: "Despite our differences, I am extremely grateful to have worked with him. He is a genius and a pioneer in the coaching world, and the best moments of my career were under his leadership at Manchester City."

He continued: "I enjoyed the training sessions and matches, and I felt my importance within the team. He helped me develop, not just as a player, but also on a personal level."

He concluded by saying: "In the end, I did not have the desire to stay at Manchester City, and the club also did not want me to continue, so moving to Al-Hilal was the right decision for everyone."

Since joining Al-Hilal, Cancelo has participated in 31 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing 10 assists, continuing to shine with the Saudi giants.
