Ribery: I Experienced Great Horror and Almost Lost My Leg
French star Franck Ribery spoke about the difficult times he recently experienced, revealing that his leg could have been amputated.
Ribery said: "I lived terrifying moments in Austria, but the surgery went well with a plate inserted inside. After that, I developed a severe infection after about 5 months, and for two months, I was on medication, and the plate was removed."
He added: "It was so serious that I had holes in my leg! I was infected with golden staphylococcus."
He continued: "I went to the emergency room in the hospital in Austria for 12 days; my leg could have been cut off! The surgeon was amazing."
