Argentinian star Julian Alvarez, player for Atletico Madrid, spoke about the controversy surrounding the canceled penalty in the Champions League match against Real Madrid, which was overturned after a VAR review due to him allegedly touching the ball twice.

Alvarez stated in comments following Argentina's victory over Uruguay: "I have watched the incident over a thousand times; there are videos everywhere, but I don't feel like I touched the ball twice. If that did happen, it must have been a very slight touch that is hard to perceive."

He also emphasized the need to review the laws concerning such situations, saying: "What happened against Real Madrid was unfortunate, and the rules need to be clarified more to prevent such situations from recurring."

On the international level, Alvarez assisted in the only goal against Uruguay, scored by Thiago Almada, continuing his impressive performance with the national team.
