The Saudi national team achieved a valuable victory against the Chinese national team with a score of 1-0, in the match that brought the two teams together in the seventh round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The only goal of the match came from Salem Al-Dawsari in the 50th minute, following a pass from right-back Saud Abdulhamid.
Chinese player Lin Liangming received a red card in the 45+1 minute after a violent tackle on Saudi player Hassan Kadhesh, leaving the Chinese team to continue the match with only 10 players.
Hassan Kadhesh was taken to the hospital for treatment due to a head injury from this tackle, and Al-Lajami came on as his substitute.
With this precious victory, the Saudi team is in third place in Group C of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup with 9 points, while the Chinese team remains at 6 points in sixth place.
