The Spanish striker Álvaro Morata, currently on loan from AC Milan to Turkish club Galatasaray, expressed his regret over the decision to leave Atlético Madrid during the last winter transfer window.

Morata stated in a press interview, "If I could turn back time, I wouldn't have left Atlético Madrid. I should have thought carefully before making this decision, but now I can't change it."

He added, "This matter has affected me a lot, especially during the Euro tournament. I needed to feel appreciated and loved, and Diego Simeone wanted me very much, but I didn't listen to the advice of my father and my agent who confirmed that I was making a mistake."

Morata had joined AC Milan last summer but struggled to adapt, getting into verbal altercations with coach Sergio Conceição, which led the club to loan him to Galatasaray, where he is trying to regain his form.
