Saudi Football History Documentation Approaches Completion

The decisive moment in the project to document the history of Saudi football is nearing, as the Saudi Football Federation prepares to hold its regular meeting to review the final report of this massive project.

This project, which spans over a century, is on the verge of completion after an extraordinary effort that has taken years, under the close supervision of local and international sports institutions.

The upcoming phase will be crucial in shaping the documented and official football history of the Kingdom.

According to press reports, the working team will meet in April to review the final report of the project before it is officially approved.

The team has previously reviewed the period from 1982 to 2025 and has completed 96% of the documentation stages.

Experts nominated by FIFA are participating in the project, along with representatives from the Ministry of Sports and the King Abdulaziz Foundation.

The team also includes representatives from the Broadcasting and Television Authority, the Professional League Association, and the clubs of the General Assembly.

Documenting the history of the championships opens the door for a fair assessment of the clubs' journeys and enhances the memory of Saudi football globally.
