Koeman Closes the Door on Bergwijn
Ronald Koeman, the head coach of the Netherlands national team, remains determined not to call up Steven Bergwijn, the star of Al-Ittihad Saudi team, to the national squad.
Koeman had announced at the beginning of Bergwijn's transfer to Al-Ittihad that he would not call him up due to his move to a league of a lower level in football.
Koeman commented on the player who is excelling with Al-Ittihad: "In any case, he has to wait for the new national team coach."
He added: "My issue with him is only that he did not consult me before moving to Al-Ittihad, and I did not justify that to him; it is up to him to contact me."
