Al-Ula Writes History.. Notable Numbers for the Latest Promoted to Yelo League
Saturday 15-03-2025
Al-Ula Club has achieved a historic accomplishment by winning the title of the Saudi Second Division League, after an exceptional season that witnessed strong performances in all rounds. Despite a rocky start with a goalless draw against Hajer, the team quickly regained its balance, achieving 19 victories, alongside 8 draws and only 3 defeats. The players scored 58 goals, while they conceded 26 goals, reflecting a remarkable balance between attack and defense.

Al-Ula collected 65 points, topping Group A, securing a spot to face Al-Dhahriah, the champion of Group B, in the match to determine the champion of the Second Division League. Both teams have also officially secured promotion to the Yelo League, marking a significant step in Al-Ula's journey towards competing in the Professional League. This achievement reflects the great efforts made by the management, coaching staff, and players to realize the dream.

This success was not a coincidence, as it came after the transfer of the club's ownership to the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate in June 2023, providing it with strong financial and administrative support. The club strengthened its ranks with local and foreign professional players, alongside developing its infrastructure, contributing to building a competitive team. These strategic steps have made Al-Ula one of the most promising teams in Saudi football.

Portuguese coach Rodolfo Korea was the mastermind behind this achievement, leading the team with precise tactics and a high fighting spirit. Many players shone under his leadership, including captain Hussein Al-Muqahi, Aqeel Balghith, Abdulaziz Al-Alawi, Dhahar Al-Otaibi, Mazid Farih, and Ahmed Al-Jubai. The foreign professionals, led by Togolese Khalid Nari and Brazilians Alan Souza and Thiago Pereira, also provided a strong addition to the team.

It seems that Al-Ula Club is not satisfied with just promotion; it aspires to leave its mark in the Yelo League, and perhaps even beyond. With careful planning and increasing ambition, the team may be on the brink of writing a new chapter in its history, competing with the big leagues and getting closer to achieving the dream of playing in the Saudi Roshan Professional League.
