Brazilian star Neymar da Silva, a player for Santos FC, published a clarification regarding his exit from the national team roster for the matches against Colombia and Argentina in the World Cup qualifiers.
Neymar had returned to the squad after being absent for over two years, but due to injury, he was excluded and young Real Madrid player Endrick was called up instead.
Neymar wrote on his Instagram account: "Everyone knows how eager I am to return, and we talked extensively about what happened. The coaching staff and I agreed not to take any risks, so I can fully recover."
The player expressed that he feels a great disappointment about what happened, as he was excited to wear the Brazil jersey again.
