Officially.. Barcelona renews Inigo Martinez's contract

The Spanish club Barcelona announced the activation of the option to extend the contract of its defender Inigo Martinez until June 2026, after reaching an agreement between the two parties months ago, along with completing the contract registration procedures with the Spanish league association.

The Catalan club expressed its happiness with the continuation of defender Inigo Martinez, who has become one of the key elements in coach Hans Flick's plans.

Inigo Martinez joined Barcelona in the summer of 2023 from Athletic Bilbao, and in his first season, he played 25 matches across all competitions. However, with the start of the current season, he has established himself as a key pillar in defense, having played 33 matches so far, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists.

Martinez also contributed to Barcelona's victory in the Spanish Super Cup this season, confirming his value as one of the team's top defenders.
