Saeed Shalaby, the executive director of Al Ahly club, denied that the club would withdraw from the Egyptian League Cup.

Al Ahly did not attend the summit match against Zamalek last Tuesday, insisting on postponing the match and bringing in foreign referees to officiate the game, and the red team threatened not to continue the league.

Saeed Shalaby stated in remarks via "etc" channel: "The decision issued by the board of directors of Al Ahly club pertains only to the Egyptian league, and there is also a decision that the council is in continuous session to monitor what is happening in this regard."

He added: "The council is in continuous session to study all matters related to the football file."

Al Ahly will face Enppi on March 20 in the Egyptian League Cup.
