Saudi Al-Hilal Tempts Van Dijk with Huge Offer

Thursday 13-03-2025
Virgil van Dijk, the defender of English club Liverpool, faces an uncertain future, with reports indicating that he has received a huge offer from Saudi club Al-Hilal, coinciding with the nearing expiration of his contract in the summer of 2025, without a decision on renewal yet.

According to French newspaper 'L'Équipe', Al-Hilal has offered Van Dijk an annual salary estimated at £17 million, making it one of the enticing options for the Dutch defender if he decides to embark on a new experience outside of Europe.

Van Dijk sparked speculation after Liverpool's elimination from the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain on penalties 4-1, as he stated in his remarks: 'I don't know what will happen next season, I haven't made any decision yet, my focus is now on the ten remaining matches.'

A photo of Van Dijk with Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of Paris Saint-Germain, and sporting director Luis Campos, ignited discussions about the possibility of his transfer to the French team, but RMC Sport clarified that the meeting was not to discuss a potential transfer, but for Van Dijk to apologize for a previous altercation with Campos.

Saudi interest is not limited to Van Dijk, as Mohamed Salah remains a primary target for Roshen League clubs, with expectations of renewed attempts to sign him during the summer transfer window of 2025.
