Spanish coach Jesus Casas has announced the Iraqi national team's squad in preparation for the matches against Kuwait and Palestine on the 20th and 25th of this month, as part of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The squad features two new faces: Haroon Ahmed, a player from Duhok Club, and Charbel Shamoun, who has been called up for the first time to represent the Iraqi national team.

Haroon Ahmed is considered one of the standout players of Duhok Club this season, having delivered impressive performances in the Iraqi Premier League, which caught the attention of the national team's coaching staff.

Meanwhile, Charbel Shamoun plays as a right-back and is with Western United in Australia, and he has previously represented Iraq's under-20 national team.
