
5 African Seats in FIFA Council, Motsepe Re-elected as CAF President
The extraordinary general assembly of the continental federation was held this morning, Wednesday, in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
The assembly witnessed the re-election of Patrice Motsepe as the President of the African Football Confederation (CAF) by acclamation, for a new term of four years until 2029.
Motsepe also maintained his position at the helm of the African federation for a second consecutive term, while remaining a member of the FIFA Council and the first vice-president.
Moroccan Fawzi Lekjaa, Egyptian Hani Abu Reda, Mauritanian Ahmed Yahya, Djiboutian Suleiman Biri, and Comorian Knezat Ibrahim secured membership in the FIFA Council.
