Monza opened the scoring in the 32nd minute through Samuel Birindelli, while the second goal came in the 44th minute from Keita Baldé, making the score 2-0 in favor of Monza.

Inter Milan managed to reduce the deficit by scoring their first goal in the 45+2 minute through Marko Arnautović, and Hakan Çalhanoğlu scored the equalizer in the 64th minute.

The third goal for Inter Milan came in the 78th minute through Georgios Kyriakopoulos' own goal.
