Pioli: Sad About the Draw with Al-Shabab

Stefano Pioli, the head coach of Al-Nassr, confirmed that his team could have secured a positive result from the match against Al-Shabab, which ended in a 2-2 draw on Friday.

Pioli stated in his remarks after the match: "I am sad about the result, and our players worked hard in the game. We came away with a point, which is better than nothing, and we promise the fans to deliver a better performance in the next match."

Regarding the reason for substituting Cristiano Ronaldo, he said: "We considered fatigue and exhaustion; John Duran is more fit to score goals."

The Al-Nassr coach continued: "I feel sad for the players because they exerted effort on the field, and we could have achieved a positive result. We will not stop and will work on correcting mistakes; the Al-Nassr players deserved a better result."

He added: "In recent matches, Al-Nassr has not scored before the opponent, which forced us to chase the goal to equalize and win. The players are working hard on the field, and we waste many opportunities, but we are working to correct that."

He concluded: "We looked for solutions among the substitutes, and those we brought on delivered what was needed. We are going through tough circumstances regarding the number of matches and fatigue, and we are focusing on the upcoming important match in the AFC Champions League for the elite."
