The Spanish Football Federation's Referees Committee has announced the appointment of referee Francisco José Hernández Maeso to officiate the match between Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano, scheduled to take place next Sunday evening at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, as part of the 27th round of the Spanish league.

Real Madrid currently occupies the third position in the Spanish league standings with 54 points, just 3 points behind the leaders Barcelona, making this encounter crucial in the title race.

Referee Alejandro Quintero González will be responsible for the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) during the match. It is worth noting that Maeso has previously officiated one match for Real Madrid in the 2023/2024 season, which was against Almería, and ended with a 3-2 victory for the royal club.
