Amorim: Our goal is to win the Premier League, and penalties were not in our favor

Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim appeared in a press statement after being eliminated from the fifth round of the FA Cup following a penalty shootout loss to Fulham after a 1-1 draw.

The coach said: "We managed to score in the second half, but it was difficult for us to press hard, yet we succeeded and scored a goal. I believe we had the best chances in the match. In the end, penalties can go either way, and they were not in our favor today."

He added: "It's important to say that with the substitutions, we had a chance to win the match."

He continued: "I think we are better at the first balls than the second balls. I believe it also relates to the quality of the players. Bruno, Casemiro, and Josh [Zirkzee] are improving a lot.

Regarding the penalties: "I try to relax the players, and they know it's about the technical side, but you have to be relaxed and confident."

He emphasized: "The goal is to win the Premier League title. I know we are losing matches, but the goal is to win the Premier League again. I don't know how long it will take to achieve that; we have a goal, and we will continue to progress no matter what happens. It's impossible to know when that will happen, but you start to understand that the players are getting better, and we understand the league. We will see in the future."

He concluded: "We need to recover the players. They were really tired, and we have three days off before we play here at Old Trafford against Arsenal."
