Bayern Munich Director Shocks Kimmich
Max Eberl, the sporting director of Bayern Munich, spoke about recent reports that confirmed the club withdrew the renewal offer for German star Joshua Kimmich.
Eberl said: "Withdrawing the financial offer to renew Kimmich's contract? It has become public, and if the truth is published publicly, then yes, this is the situation. We are negotiating and talking, and we have never announced a specific position regarding the stages of negotiation; we are in constant communication, and that is the most important thing."
He added: "We have not misjudged Joshua in any way; he is having an exceptional season so far, and his performance is amazing. All of us at the club know his value, and the relationship between the two parties is still perfectly fine on a personal level."
He concluded: "No one is above the club; if any player decides to take a different path, that is their decision, and Bayern Munich will continue to move forward. There have always been great players here, but some had to leave when an agreement was not reached or when their contracts expired. Life always goes on. But we are not at that point yet; this was just a general discussion."
