After the Draw Against Z, Bezerra Attacks Refereeing
Thursday 27-02-2025
José Bezerra, the Zamalek coach, attacked the refereeing after his team's draw against Z in the league today.

The match between Zamalek and Z, which took place today in the 16th round of the Premier League, ended in a positive draw of 1-1.

Bezerra said in the press conference after the match: "I believe today's match was the best for Zamalek since I took over, and we wasted many opportunities, but the opponent had one chance which they scored from."

He added: "I am happy that the players are getting used to the style of play, but Zamalek had a penalty in today's match that was not counted, and there were two penalties previously in my matches against Petrojet and Al Ahly that were also not counted. Why didn't the video referee see the penalty in today's match, just like he saw the offside in the disallowed Zamalek goal?"

He continued: "I am sad about the draw, but I am happy with the players' performance, and we work every day to improve the quality of the players, and everyone bears responsibility, but Zamalek does not accept the mistake of ignoring a penalty in every match. If the video referee had seen these penalties, Zamalek would have gained 6 additional points, and we do not want help from anyone."

He went on: "I am sad about the absence of fans in today's match, especially since they continuously support the team. Zamalek is on the right track, despite not winning today's match. My team created many opportunities, and we needed to win because we deserved to win today. I do not want the video referee's help; I just want the right decision, and all the players are sad about losing two points."

He concluded: "It is natural that losing two points in today's match affects Zamalek's chances in the league, and the penalty that was not counted today is clear to everyone. My team played very good football against Z.

We played today's match in a 3-4-3 formation and executed it well. Z scored a goal that they did not deserve today, unlike Petrojet, who created chances against Zamalek, and Al Ahly, who had two chances. My team created many opportunities today that were enough to achieve victory, and the penalties that were not counted for us are clear to everyone. I will work from tomorrow on developing my team and addressing the negatives.
