Zamalek Seeks Agreement with Saint-Étienne
Reports from Egyptian media revealed today, Tuesday, that Zamalek's management has started serious efforts to permanently sign Moroccan player Mahmoud Bentaik for the White Castle squad after their rival Al-Ahly showed interest in the player's services.
It is worth noting that left-back Bentaik joined Zamalek last summer on loan from French club Saint-Étienne for one season.
According to reports, Zamalek can activate the purchase clause for Bentaik's contract if they pay one million euros to Saint-Étienne.
Sources indicated that there is an attempt from Zamalek with Saint-Étienne to reduce the required amount to sign Bentaik to 650,000 euros.
Zamalek holds the player's signature on the new contract, and only the final agreement on the transfer value with the French club remains.
