The Spanish Federation Opens an Investigation Against Real Madrid
Wednesday 26-02-2025
The Spanish Football Federation opened an official investigation today, Wednesday, against Real Madrid, following the complaint filed by La Liga in response to the sharp statement issued by the royal club recently.

In its statement, Real Madrid directed harsh criticisms at the refereeing system in Spain, describing it as completely corrupt, indicating that it operates to protect itself with the support of the disciplinary committees within the Spanish Federation. The club also confirmed that this refereeing system is subject to intertwined interests within the federation, making it a politically influential entity rather than a neutral technique.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", the ongoing investigation targets the club itself and not its board members, which contradicts what La Liga demanded.

In the upcoming phase, an investigator will be appointed to gather information from the concerned parties during the next month, after which a proposal for a potential penalty will be submitted to the disciplinary committee. If any penalty is imposed, Real Madrid and La Liga will be notified to give them a chance to appeal before the final decision is issued.

Real Madrid currently occupies the second position in the Spanish league table with 54 points, the same as the leader Barcelona, which intensifies the competition for the title.
