Baroni: We Will Not Give Up, and I Trust All the Players

Lazio was eliminated from the Coppa Italia after losing to Inter Milan 2-0 in the quarter-finals, in a match held at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. Following the match, Marco Baroni, the head coach of Lazio, expressed his disappointment at being knocked out of the tournament, confirming that his team performed well but lacked the final touch in front of goal.

Baroni said: "We feel sad because this tournament only required qualification, but we failed to score. We created chances, but the final touch was missing. We need to stay calm and keep working."

Despite the exit from the tournament, Baroni emphasized that Lazio continues its project focused on development and giving opportunities to young players, stating: "We always look ahead, and we believe in hard work and player growth. We are fully aware of our path and will continue to fight until the end; we will not back down or give up."

The Lazio coach touched on his decision to include Luca Pellegrini in the starting lineup, explaining: "He played in the Coppa Italia as he did previously against Napoli with Hysaj. He is part of our team and trains continuously with us. At Lazio, we do not rely on a fixed lineup; we consider all players as starters. This is our philosophy, and we will continue to work the same way."

Regarding his evaluation of striker Valentin Castellanos's performance, Baroni affirmed his full support for the player, noting that the team does not think about absences but focuses only on the available group. He said: "Castellanos is a special player, and we know well what he can offer. I do not allow players to be preoccupied with who is absent or who did not participate. We are a big team, and each player has an important role. Some might feel the pressure of moving to Lazio, but I trust them all. I am convinced of their abilities, despite my sadness over being eliminated from the tournament."
