A Spanish press report indicates that the Disciplinary Committee of the Spanish Football Federation has decided to open an investigation against Real Madrid due to its statements against refereeing.
Real Madrid had sent a letter to the Spanish Federation and the Higher Sports Council after the events of the Espanyol match, questioning the integrity of the refereeing.
La Liga filed a complaint with the Spanish Federation against Real Madrid following this letter.
The Spanish newspaper "Marca" reported that the Disciplinary Committee will study the complaint submitted by La Liga against Real Madrid, and a decision regarding the punishment of the royal club will be made thereafter.
The source added that the study of the complaint will take two to three weeks, and if Real Madrid is found guilty, it will face only a financial penalty.
