Guardiola: We did not deserve to qualify, and Real Madrid is a candidate for the title

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola appeared in press statements after the 3-1 loss against Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League elimination.

The first leg ended with Real Madrid's 3-2 victory.

"After we received the goal in the first game we did not defend well, it was more difficult. We have to accept it, the best team won, so congratulations to Real Madrid. Now we focus on the Premier League," the coach said.

He added: "Real Madrid is a great team, deserves to qualify. While we did not deserve it, it is the first year in which we did not offer a good season in the Champions League. We have to accept it and fight for the next season to be here again."

And: "Of course, Real Madrid is a competitor to win the Champions League now, but there are other good teams."
