Real Madrid announces the honor of Marcelo before the derby
Real Madrid announced in an official statement, the honor of the Brazilian star Marcelo, before the Madrid derby, this evening, after he recently announced his retirement from football.
"Marcelo will be honored in the derby match on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium," the club said.
He added: "Our stadium will be the opportunity to bid farewell and recognize the Brazilian, who announced his retirement as a professional football player on Thursday."
"Marcelo is one of the great myths of our club and world football."
He concluded: "During his sixteen seasons with Real Madrid, he won 25 titles in 546 games: 5 European cups, 4 world cups for clubs, 3 European super cups, 6 league cups, 2 Cup of Spain Cup and 5 Spanish Super Cups."
