Spanish midfielder Niko Gonzalez expressed his great happiness by moving to Manchester City, stressing that joining the team is an ideal opportunity in his career.

Manchester City had contracted Gonzalez from Porto Porto hours before the winter transfer market was closed, after paying the penalty clause of 60 million euros, to compensate for the absence of Spanish Rodri due to the injury.

In his first statement after the move, the 23 -year -old Gonzales said: "This is the ideal opportunity for me at this stage of my career. Playing in England is a great challenge, and there is no better club than Manchester City to take this experience."

He added: "The team here is amazing, full of global stars, there is no player in the world that he does not wish to be part of this squad."

He also expressed his enthusiasm to work under the leadership of coach Pep Guardiola, saying: "I know Pep well, and I cannot wait to work with him.

It is noteworthy that Gonzalez is one of the graduates of the Barcelona Academy, where he left the team in the summer of 2023 to join Porto, before taking a new step to move to Manchester City in a big deal that reflects the confidence of the English club in its capabilities.
