Iraqi star Karar Jassim officially retires from football

The Iraqi star "Karar Jassim" announced his formal retirement from football, ending a march that spanned 21 years full of local and international achievements and posts.

Karar began his professional career in 2004 with the Najaf Club before he went through many experiences inside and outside Iraq, as he represented the police clubs, students, air force, and midfield, in addition to his experience in the Iranian league with the independence of Tehran, Tracter Sazi and the melody of Ahn.

At the international level, Karrar was part of the golden generation that achieved the Asian Cup for Iraq in 2007 and contributed a distinct performance in many continental and international championships, which made him one of the most prominent midfielders in Iraq.

In his remarks after the retirement announced, Karar Jassim said: "Today I put the end point for my football career, I thank everyone who supported me during this long years, whether the fans, coaches or my fellow players. It was an honor for me to represent the Iraqi team and carry the club's shirt that I played for." . 

And the highlight of Karar Jassem's title in his football career is to win the 2007 Asian Cup, fourth in the 2004 Athens Olympics, the Iraqi League, the Iranian League, the Iraq Cup and the Gulf Cup for Clubs.

Karar Jassim is considered one of the most prominent offensive midfielders in the history of Iraq, thanks to his high skills, decisive passes and his ability to change the course of the matches, and despite his retirement, his name will remain present among the Iraqi football stars who left an unforgettable imprint.
