Friday 24-01-2025
The Belgian Football Association announced the appointment of coach Rodri Garcia as a new technical director for the national team, to succeed former coach Dominico Tidisco, who was sacked after a series of disappointing results, and the Belgian Federation explained that Garcia will be officially presented to the media at a press conference held at a later time From Friday.

The appointment of Garcia comes a week after the dismissal of Tidisco, who failed to achieve the desired results with the Belgian national team in recent times, and Garcia is one of the prominent coaches in European football, where he previously trained many major clubs in France and Italy, including Roma, Marseille and Lyon in France, in addition to the Saudi Al -Nasr Club.

It was the last training experience for Rodri Garcia with the Italian team Napoli, as he was sacked in November 2023 after only 16 games in his position, and despite that, Garcia still has a good reputation thanks to his previous successes, which makes him a suitable option to lead Belgium in the next stage.

Belgium is preparing under the supervision of Garcia to meet the Ukraine team in two separate matches in the European Nations League next March, and these matches aim to determine the team that will remain at the first level in the competition for the next season, and at a later time, the Belgian team will go to Northern Macedonia in June 2025 to play the first A match in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

With the appointment of Garcia, the Belgian Federation hopes that the new coach will be able to return the team to the right track and achieve the results that put him in the forefront on the European and global scene.
