Laporta confirms his desire to keep Araujo amid interest from Juventus
Barcelona club president, Joan Laporta, confirmed his desire for the team’s star, Uruguayan Ronald Araujo, to continue after the news circulating about his imminent departure from the team this month.
Araujo's name has been linked to leaving the Catalan club during the current winter transfer period, amid interest from the Italian club Juventus in contracting with him, as he only has a season and a half remaining in his contract with Barcelona.
He spoke Laporta on Ronald Araujo and the possibility of him moving to Juve, saying: “You should ask Deco. I want Araujo to stay. I think we can find a solution.”
He added: “I love Ronald.” A great player and man, due to some circumstances, he is now talking with the sports administration. There is still room to reach a solution.”
