The President of the Moroccan Federation recommends not stopping the Moroccan League

Fawzi Lakjaa, President of the Moroccan Football Federation, recommended that the local league not stop during the national team’s participation in the African Championship for Local Players, from February 1 to 28.

The tournament will be held in three countries: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, while the local league is witnessing a continuation of competitions.

Although the recommendations regarding the continuation of the Moroccan League were not part of the conclusion of the last meeting between Lakjaa and his executive office, they were met with a positive response from the clubs, and it is expected that they will be fully implemented, after identifying the Moroccan national team’s competitors in the Championship. The matter will be held during the draw next week, and the clubs will determine the final list of players concerned with their release to participate in the tournament.

These recommendations come within the framework of the President of the Moroccan Football Federation’s keenness to ensure the continuity of the local league. Without affecting the performance of the national team, at the same time, Moroccan clubs will be ready to prepare for important international competitions, including Wydad’s participation in the Club World Cup.
